Professor Timo Dietrich's research and engagement collaboration with the Centre has resulted in several Australian Research Council Linkage funded projects. From 2016-2018, Professor Dietrich held a jointly funded fellowship at NCYSUR and Social Marketing @ Griffith University (SM@G). Professor Dietrich currently leads the Blurred Minds alcohol and drug education program run by SM@G, which was developed as part of this collaboration.

Blurred Minds resources are curriculum mapped and gamified and have demonstrated significant increases in adolescent knowledge, more critical beliefs about alcohol, vaping and cannabis consumption, more accurate social norms, lowered substance use expectations as well as increased capability to refuse alcohol and other drugs offered to young people.

Over the past 13 years, Blurred Minds has engaged thousands of students, supported parents in conversations with their adolescent children, and empowered teachers to deliver more effective alcohol and drug education. NCYSUR is a Blurred Minds Academy partner.
