Dr Juliane Pariz

Dr Pariz is a clinical trials and research manager at NCYSUR and an associate research scientist at Yale School of Medicine, Child Study Centre Clinical Services, Yale University. 
She is also an experienced Clinical and Health Psychologist and an AHPRA-registered, Psychology Board-approved supervisor. Her clinical areas of focus include child and adolescent externalising presentations, such as impulsivity, aggression, delinquency and substance use, as well as parental interventions for parents/families with IPV, substance use and co-parenting challenges. Dr Pariz completed a clinical and a research master’s in psychology in Brazil. Her PhD was completed on the Gold Coast at Griffith University, where she investigated early childhood origins of antisocial behaviour in children and adolescents. She completed a 2-year Postdoctoral fellowship at NCYSUR (2021-2023). Her ongoing research at NCYSUR focuses on parenting practices, adolescent substance use, and early intervention strategies. Her research areas of interest include child developmental psychopathology, clinical trials testing parental interventions for parents with a history of trauma, IPV and substance use. Dr Pariz is currently working on on fatherhood-focused interventions. She is particularly interested in translational research, co-developing, implementing, and sustaining the delivery of evidence-based interventions in real-world settings, such as health services. She is also very interested in longitudinal and cohort studies.
